What is the Cold War
The Cold War is the ideological conflict between the Soviet Union and the Unites States after WWII. It was the difference in governments with the US supporting Capitalism and the Soviet Union supporting Communism.
The Cold War dominated the two powers foreign policies, domestic priorities and military planning for about 46 years. It started in February, 1946 when stalin delivered his " tow camp's" speech and it ended in January, 1992 in President George Bush's state of the union address when he declared victory for the US.
The Cold War impacted the entire globe, from economics of debt to the US and Russia (they spent trillions of dollars for the space race and for military). It also effected countries that were in war such as Vietnam and Korea. Germany was also greatly effected because it was split up in capitalist West Germany and Communist East Germany.
